We were impressed with this park. Very accessible by car. There are two viewpoints: the observation bridge and the lookout platform where you can see birds of prey. Lots of insects and beautiful fauna and flora. We didn’t see any alligators or other wildlife. Definitely worth a stop if you love nature.

A very rustic NWR. The roads are well maintained and the vistas are pretty beautiful! Great wetlands and upland prairie to see wildlife.

Docking a point because the signs, buildings, and informational panels are not maintained. The glass needs to be cleaned and wasps nests removed. If it weren't for the well-maintained roads you'd think it were abandoned. The nature trail is also very overgrown and in need of serious pruning. A single handicap parking space in the woods was funny to see.

Well maintained trails and roads. On the path I first had to ask myself 'Are wild pigs friendly?' As I approached they noticed me and ran off squealing. That's when I realized they must be female, because that happens all the time to me. Further down there was a loud splashing noise off to the side of the trail in the swamp. I assumed it was a very docile animal practicing for the Olympic diving team. I gave them an 8.3. Then as I reached open water one by one all these heads pop up out of the water as I'm walking. I was unaware Georgia/Alabama had 8-10 foot iguanas, but they seemed pretty indifferent to me as long as I stayed on my land and they kept to their water. After reading previous reviews I had practiced punching trees for weeks in preparation for fighting apex predators on my journey. Alas, I only had one fight along my journey. A pigeon sized mosquito that took my wallet and pushed me down and called me a “Yankee”.

We drove through it the last weekend of March 2023. We saw all kinds of wildlife. We saw 6 black wild hogs. 1 was an adult. We saw one 12 foot alligator. We saw 9 baby/teenage alligators. We saw 2 white tailed deer. We saw beautiful waterscapes, and Lilly pads in bloom. We saw many birds (White cranes, one large black crane, two weird black birds that danced in the water, a weird brown bird with a long squiggly neck, a cardinal, water fowl, and many others). Beautiful trees, new species of flowers (some were kinda ugly ngl). The weather was perfect just drive slow and keep your eyes peeled. I wouldn’t suggest going on foot or by bike tho, ngl.

This place is great. It's very laid back and calm. I wish they had a map at the entrance . Because there's not many signs on the road. And therefore, we didn't get to see everything.

This was an okay experience. I did notice one of the nature trails was located next to the Deer Graveyard which may explain all the carcasses other people have seen. There were signs on the roads but I wish it would notate mileage. I went to one of the wildlife viewing pavilions but didn't see much. The grass was cut but briars were starting to take over. The observation deck was closed.

Least “natural” nature refuge I’ve ever seen. Very small and residential spots everywhere. Looks more like a subdivision with cleared land around it that they let grow up a little. Not a great place for meditation or to connect with nature. Lots of trees are being cut down which is a shame. Disappointed.

Definitely worth an hour of your time if you like nature!
Even saw alligators but being that I didn’t want to get eaten sorry no pictures of them.
