Birmingham Full Figured Fashion Week
Although we had a great production, I must say that I am greatly disappointed 😞 with how my staff and guest were treated. Water was dripping from the ceiling onto my DJ's Equipment and onto my Decorator's props. When I asked the Event Center's Director if they was going to fix it, she told me that they would have to rent a lever. I was like ok, and she did not want to rent the lever to fix the major concern and issue. She told me that me some man had fixed it himself. When Agreeing upon the original contract, the Manager told me that the Center cost $1100 for 4 hours. I paid her an additional $125 for 300 people in attendance so that my production could last until 11 p.m., not 10 p.m. due to how Fashion shows and events usually run. Also, the contract says that all persons should be out by midnight which we were. The Event Director breached contract by going around telling guests and staff that my contract ended at 10 p.m. A contract is a private agreement between the person who paid for the contract and the venue. To share a private contract with staff and guest is extremely unprofessional. I liked the space, and I liked the areas that were offered too. However, I don't like how my production was abruptly ended and how contractual information was shared with the masses. Not only that, but how it was not all true as discussed in the initial discussion. I was told that I could pay $100 per extra hour, I told the Center Director that I would bring my own Bartender, instead of using theirs. Once my Bartender arrived, the Center Director told her that she didn't know that I had a Bartender coming. Not true, because I had reminded her that the Bartender was coming to setup the drinks by the food table. I was not allowed to have my last scene which was not fair because people were cheated out of an opportunity to be showcased. C+ experience with this facility due to the unprofessionalism that was displayed at the end of the night.
