This is the kindest group of people. I expected less but couldn't have asked for more. I feel heard and seen, everyone listens and is very caring. My first visit was 7 months ago and each time is the same. They have a sliding scale fee that is very affordable. Even if I had great health insurance, I would still want to use them.

Please be very careful about going here. I am new to Alabama and out of necessity, I went here about two months ago for a wound on my chest. I was told this was a sliding scale low income clinic and have been to a different one in Florence and had no issue with NP Uribe. However, this locations nurse practitioner is Marleah McAnalley.

I have never felt so uncomfortable and dehumanized in a doctors office before. There were quite a few issues that I don’t feel quite comfortable posting publicly.

Then when the visit was over, I was told my fee is $25 dollars (just like the one in Florence). I paid and ended up cancelling my future appointment as I realized she knew nothing about wound care. Now it is 2 months later, and they are billing me for $171.01. I have called 5 times today and I was hung up on 4 times before somebody told me that billing is closed and I would have to try again in the morning.

Some advice: they only have one phone number for all locations which leads to a call center and they don’t want to hear your issues, they seem like they just want to pass you off to the next person so that they don’t have to deal with a problematic customer. Write down all your questions, because the nurse practitioner there, Marleah McAnalley, FNP WILL try to rush you. If you can’t figure out what is wrong with you on google, you’re better off going to the ER because this location is not very helpful with their advice. And let me tell you, nurse practitioners are smart. I used to go to a NP in Michigan as my PCP, and she was very helpful. Not this one.

I was fine with paying $25 for my visit because you get the care that you pay for. And I felt the job she did was worth about $25. But $171.01 +$25 is not worth it. I am sure there was just some kind of issue with my paperwork, but I can’t reach anybody to figure it out.

Gone are the days when doctors cared.

Update: there was an issue with my paperwork. A billing specialist sent me a paper that i needed to have filled out to get my bill covered. I filled out that paper before my appointment, but I guess it wasn’t uploaded into the system.

After more than 20 calls made to this establishment, I pretended to be a doctor from Hellen Keller and that is how I finally spoke to somebody from billing. If you need to speak to billing, ask for Donna Myer and say you are from Hellen Keller hospital; it worked for me. Donna was very helpful and fixed my paperwork. She said she was not aware there was an issue with phones.

If you are able to go to another healthcare provider, I highly recommend it. If you received good care from Marleah McAnalley, lucky you. Or maybe you don’t know what actual good healthcare is. I, however, do not believe healthcare should be looked as “you get what you pay for” but that’s how the world works. If you are going through similar issues I went through, hang in there and don’t let them treat you like you are less than human like most providers do to low income/no insurance patients. ❤️

This is a Tricare prime approved doctor in Muscle Shoals Al.
Note: This is the only one in many miles.

The call in number is not actually to this clinic, it is to the family health care network, where they have numerous locations and the staff answering the phone does not know the local offices schedule nor can connect you to this office properly.

The biggest concern is availability of reaching the actual staff who works here. The staff does a good job at this location once you are actually in front of them but do to the nightmare of actually being able to speak to your nurse or doctor when you are actually sick and not in front of them, I can not rate this place well. This doctor and staff would do well to go into private practice so they can better serve their patients with actual phone numbers that go to the office and doctor that we are assigned to by Tricare.

They have an online application where you can request 1 appointment per reason for visit. As an IT pro, this application is a nice place for records but not for doctor patient relationships.
It misses the mark entirely.

1 star for phone and web app communication issues at the business.
4 stars for doctor and staff who seem to be forced by the parent company to hurry patients through like cattle. They have compassion for their patients but it is zapped by company policy.
