This is a great little hike right in Homewood. It’s about a half mile loop with some elevation on a narrow / deer trail and a great, quick hike. I took my 11, 9 and 7 year old daughters and we had a blast. We will go back. There is a new entry right by the speed limit sign on South Lakeshore so be aware of that. There is also an orienteering course there which could be very fun.

This place is awesome! Boy Scout troop 97 has been improving the area for years with Eagle Scout projects. It’s a beautiful area especially if you need a quick retreat into the woods but don’t have the engergy to fight traffic to go to oak mountain. There are plenty of streams, elevation, and rocks. It’s a very pretty place. There is even an awesome orienteering course set up there. Also there is a virtual tour of all the native plant life you can scan with your phone. It’s worth the visit. This place is slept on far too much.

Very nice hike! There were a couple of areas on the trail where trees had fallen and you have to make your way over them. Keep that in mind when you hike here! Wildflowers were putting on a nice display!

I don’t know why in the world anyone would give 4 stars to this suppose to be park. I felt hood winked when I got there. I had to write a very honest review so no one else won’t waste their gas or time. The pics on the website looks nothing like the park. What ever lake that may have been there is dried up. It’s very tiny and the trail leads to nowhere, at the end you turn around and leave. We got there after 10am and left after 11:00am. Their is no scenery. If I could I would give zero stars.

We tried to go hiking here, but there's no parking near the entrance of the trailhead. Instead, you have to park at the local school (which for us was in the middle of a school day). The signage was also broken down and the trail looked overgrown. It was in need of maintenance and upkeep.
