The Jefferson County Family Court System is broken. There needs to be a clean sweep in there all the way down to the judges. There is not one judge in that courthouse who genuinely cares about what’s in the best interest of the kids. The DHR workers and guardian ad LITEMS neglect their cases as well. Nobody is diligently working. Everyone is just showing up for work.

It seems like they favor the mother over anything which is extremely crazy. I’ve raised my kids since birth and the mother told me you’re not gonna see your kids again even though I’m paying $700 a month which is extremely high I mean, I don’t even barely make that much much at all. I was working a full-time job as well but that’s just too much and I missed the last court date because she had time to keep going back-and-forth. I had a job and responsibilities to handle and when I missed the last one, they just put in how much they wanted to I guess I mean the system is all messed up. I mean this world is crazy right now. Be careful who you have baby wet and everything.

The worst experience of my life. Judge Pamela cousins Took my step daughter out our stable home and put her in a non-stable home with no wellness check or any records to go with her. She is a terrible judge and needs to be fired.

I’m in the military and been trying to help my brother with getting custody of his child. My brother is a respectable and financially stable man. My brother was trying to get custody of his son 7 years ago and just gotten a phone call back about custody. Now, his son is almost 18! Very unprofessional and unreliable. If you have a problem with this court system, take it federal. Write a letter to Congress about this court system and how things are being handled here. Petition everything. This is where your taxes are going people.

Sad to say that this is the reality of our system. I just went threw a 2 year battle of paying attorneys fees for the system and extra child support payments for the mother of my daughter. To all the parents that's seeking for solutions to any problems you may have. My advice for you is to go get a personal attorney and constantly apply pressure. The truth is most of the staff are hurt themselves and you all know what they say about hurt people. So with that being said we just gon have to keep fighting like we have been doing for years whenever it comes to the system and especially our kids.

The judge on 10/17/17 was very rude and did not allow me to talk. My daughter and myself were not represented like we should have been by the state. After providing them ALL the information of the absent father it took 1yr and 4 months for me to get a court date and I was then told that my back child support payment would only include 2 months prior to my set court date.
