Been dreaming of visiting the Stahl House for so long, and was lucky enough to get in on 2 cancellation spots while visiting LA from Australia. It did not disappoint!
Was just as amazing as the photos with the most incredible view of LA.
Scott was an awesome tour guide.
Will be planning on doing the night tour next time we visit LA! 🤍

I've been California dreaming for many many years now for over two decades and is mostly in part due to this house! From the time I seen it on TV in the movie I started investigating this house until my surprise it was an actual house that offered tours so I knew one day I had to get down here California dreaming! I think it's a wonderful thing that the Stahl's Open up their beautiful home and share it with others! Most people will not be fortunate enough to be able to afford a house on the hills in California.... Most people will also not be fortunate enough to even know someone that has a house under hills in California so they can even visit. So the fact that they open up they home and let your experience this I'm forever grateful and I'll never forget this moment. I'm from Chicago Illinois I took a day trip all the way from Chicago to come and see the Stahl house. And I'm glad I did I'll never ever regret it. The house look exactly like it looks on TV! I wish I can give them 10 stars instead of the five stars that the allocated!!! I enjoy myself from the time on drove up to curvy Hill until the time I walked through those doors and I enjoyed the hour of the docent Melissa was awesome I appreciate her hospitality I feel like she was talking to my soul. It was a real gloomy day in California on a day I visit but it was still such a beautiful view . I had never in all my 37 years saying anything like it and I'll never forget it I do plan on coming back. I plan on coming back for the late evening tour cuz I want to see how this sky is going to light up at night time. I will keep on monitoring their website to see one later evening tours are available cuz they do book out way ahead of time and I understand why now. I did fortunately get a chance to see the sun coming out that was a sign from God I believe as I was about to exit the door Melissa said hey look! look at the sun is coming out ☀️ 😉 I'll never forget it thanks Stahl House God bless you all.

Absolutely amazing tour. It really felt like we were just relaxing with the guide and listening to the history of the house. It was super interesting, the guide was great and the house is just so beautiful. The evening tour was entirely worth it as we got to see it in different light. Fantastic tour well worth the cost and 3 month wait. Just plan in advance.

Una chicca che gli appassionati di architettura contemporanea non possono assolutamente perdere: il design avvenieristico e modulare di Pierre Konig ha creato questa icona dell’architettura anni ‘50-‘60, il resto lo fa la collocazione stessa della casa, adagiata su un pendio dove molti altri architetti pensavano fosse impossibile costruire.

Una volta varcata la soglia la sensazione di spazio è ampissima e la vista a 270 gradi sulla città lascia senza parole.

I tour sono per 10 persone alla volta e avvengono circa 12 volte al mese, perciò i biglietti si esauriscono molto facilmente.

Loved visiting the Stahl house, which represents the most iconic mid century modern home.

This home has 2 beds, 1.5 baths and views of seemingly all of LA. It's amazing to see how people lived in the 60s (home was built in 1960).

The streets in the area are tight and parking is even tighter (the home has no garage, only a carport and a driveway.

We enjoyed hearing about the construction of the home, its owners and its rich history. Reservations must be made about 4 months in advance, so plan accordingly.

De gids (of eigenlijk meer een gastheer) was erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het huis is een absolute must see voor architecten. Als je er bent valt eigenlijk pas op hoe klein het perceel en het huis is. Het geheel is van een verpletterende eenvoud en schoonheid.
